My Interview with Australian Legend Michael Lynagh

1. How old were you when you started playing rugby? 

I was about 11.

2. What was your first rugby team that you played for?  

My school team – St Josephs College, Gregory Terrace. In Brisbane Australia

3. Who was your favourite rugby player when you where growing up? 

I was more a cricket player. So all my heroes were cricketers. On a rugby front, I guess I like Mark Loane and Paul McLean.

Ero piu un giocatore di cricket, sicce tutti i miei eroi erano giocatori di cricket, ma rigguardo il rugby direi che mi piacevano Mark Loane e Paul McLean.

5. Who is your best friend in rugby?  

Many. Rugby has given me so many friends and even my wife. I met her when I was playing rugby in Treviso.

6. I’m not very tall, do you think there is still a place in professional rugby for smaller

skilful players? 

I hope so. I wasn’t very tall or big either.

giocatore piu’ piccolo ma abile?

Spero di si, neanche io ero tanto alto.

7. What do you think are the big changes in the game from when you played?  

The size of the players

8. Do you think all the continuing rule changes are really improving the game? 

I hope so. I think the new scrum laws are good.

Not really. I played for a long time and enjoyed it – but life moves on.

Difficult to describe. Very proud and very nervous!

18. I appreciate it’s a long time away, but what are your predictions for the 2015

world cup?  

New Zealand.

A TRUE RUGBY LEGEND!

Siena under 14 vs Florentia under 14

Hiya, last weekend we played Florentia Under 14 in a match that we were all over confident about.
We started the match well going in at half time 17-5  up, and that was when the boys started to relax a bit, five minutes in to the second half it was already 17-15  and then the boys started to worry, I told the boys that there is no point in being worried, all we have to do is play the way we did in the first 20 minutes of the first half and everything will be fine. We came back to win 36-15, but that shows that even if we were the better team, it doesn't mean we can take it easy.  

On Friday there was the first regional selection games for Tuscany, there are 3 areas of Tuscany the Pirati, I Gigli and L'interno. I play for the Interno we played 2 hard matches, it was a bit hard for me having been chosen to play fullback instead of Fly-half in the first match and 2nd center in the second match. Our next get together with the team is on the 27nd of November so for now I will continue playing fly-half for Siena and see how it goes.

 Ehilà , lo scorso fine settimana abbiamo giocato Florentia Under 14 in un match dove eravamo tutti troppo sicuri in noi. Abbiamo iniziato bene la partita andando nella fine del primo tempo 17-5 su, e che era quando i ragazzi hanno iniziato a rilassarsi un po ' , a cinque minuti iniziato per la seconda metà era già 17-15 e poi i ragazzi hanno cominciato a preoccuparsi , ho detto ai ragazzi che non vi è alcun motivo per essere preoccupati tutto quello che dobbiamo fare è giocare come abbiamo fatto nei primi 20 minuti del primo tempo e tutto andrà bene . Siamo tornati a vincere 36-15 , ma questo dimostra che, anche se siamo stati la squadra migliore , ciò non significa che possiamo prendere facilmente .
Venerdì scorso c'è stato il primo gioco selezioni regionali per la Toscana , ci sono 3 zone della Toscana l' Pirati , I Gigli e L'interno . Io gioco per l' Interno abbiamo giocato due partite difficili , è stato un po 'difficile per me essere stato scelto per giocare estremo al posto di mediano d'apertura nella prima partita e secondo centro nel secondo partita . Il nostro appuntamento stare insieme con la squadra è il 27 novembre quindi per ora voglio continuare a giocare mediano d'apertura per Siena e vedere come va .

Weekend off!

Hiya, we played Rugby Prato Sesto 1 last weekend it was a very tough match for both sides unfortunately we lost 10-0  but considering we were playing one of the best teams in Tuscany I can't complain, once again we were very good in defense and put in a lot of good tackles,but we couldn't really find a way to get through therm. We went in to the break with the score the same as the final score 10-0. The second half was us desperately trying to get somewhere near their 22 but it obviously wasn't meant to be. 

Anyway as I said I would, I went to the Tuscany regional training Arezzo and I have made it through the first stage to play for Tuscany, but with many more trials to come.

We are are playing Florentia 1 next weekend I will let you know how it goes next weekend.

Ehilà, abbiamo giocato a Rugby Prato Sesto 1 lo scorso fine settimana è stata una partita molto difficile per entrambe le parti, purtroppo abbiamo perso 10-0 ma, considerando che stavamo giocando una delle migliori squadre in Toscana non posso lamentare, ancora una volta, dove siamo molto buono in difesa messo in un sacco di bene placcaggi, ma non siamo riusciti a trovare un modo per superare lì difesa, siamo andati alla fine del primo tempocon quello che sarebbe stato il punteggio finale di 10-0. Il secondo tempo è stato noi disperatamente cercando di farsi prendere un po 'vicino ai 22 ma, ovviamente, non doveva essere.
 
In ogni caso, come avevo detto, sono andato in Toscana regionali di formazione Arezzo e ho passato la prima fase di giocare per la Toscana, ma con molte più prove a venire.
Ci stiamo giocando Florentia 1 il prossimo fine settimana vi farò sapere come è andata il prossimo fine settimana.

Siena vs Firenze 1931 under 14s

Hiya, on Saturday we played our first match of the season against Firenze 1931 on a  very wet and muddy pitch after having non stop rain for a couple of days. The day started well when I was selected as captain for the season and it just got better, we went on to win a very hard and tight match against a team that we knew were favorites and to come out on top is always a great feeling, the boys were great they tackled amazingly and never gave up, the final score was 12-0. Next week we are playing Prato Sesto 1, another team who will be extremely difficult to play but like on Saturday we will give it our all and never give up!

I have also got my second under 14 regional trials tomorrow in Arezzo I will let you all know how it went later on in the week.

Ehilà, il Sabato abbiamo giocato la nostra prima partita della stagione contro Firenze 1931 su un campo molto bagnato e fangoso, dopo che abbia piovuto non stop per un paio di giorni. La giornata è iniziata bene quando sono stato selezionato come capitano per la stagione ed è è stata migliorata, siamo andati a vincere un match molto duro e stretto contro una squadra che sapevamo che erano favoriti e di uscire in vittoriosi è sempre una bella sensazione, i ragazzi sono stati grandi hanno placcato incredibilmente e non hanno mai mollato, il punteggio finale è stato di 12-0, la prossima settimana giociamo Prato Sesto 1, un'altra squadra che sarà estremamente difficile da giocare, ma come il Sabato ci metteremo tutta e mai molleremo

Ho anche il mio secondo under 14 allenamenti regionali domani ad Arezzo vi farò tutti sapere come è andata più avanti nel corso della settimana.

Birthday boy!!

Me and Mirco Bergamasco!!

Hiya, it was my birthday last week and I am now 13, I spent last weekend up in Rovigo in the north of Italy with friends and I had a fantastic time. I also went to see  our friend Billy Ngawini  play for Rovigo against Fiamme Oro, and I got to meet some fantastic players including Mirco Bergamasco as you can see from the photo above, so thank you so much Billy and Amber for an amazing weekend, and hope to see you all soon. :)

I have got my first match of the season on Saturday the 5th of October against Firenze 1931, we have all been training hard so we are as ready as ever. So wish me luck.

The Rugby Premiership has got off to a weird start with nearly every good team having already lost a match, Saracens and Northampton are the ones to beat, but it is to early in the season to say anything, but I think it will be a very interesting season.

Ehilà, era il mio compleanno la scorsa settimana e ora ho 13 anni, ho trascorso lo scorso fine settimana su a Rovigo nel nord Italia con gli amici e ho avuto un tempo fantastico. Sono anche andato a vedere il amico Billy Ngawini giocare per Rovigo contro le fiamme l'oro, e ho avuto modo di incontrare alcuni fantastici giocatori tra cui Mirco Bergamasco, come potete vedere dalla foto sopra, grazie mille Billy e Amber per un week-end incredibile, e spero di vedervi tutti presto. :)

Io ho la mia prima partita della stagione di Sabato 5 ottobre contro Firenze, ci siamo tutti allenati molto duramente quindi siamo pronti come sempre. Quindi augurattemi buona fortuna.

A climbdown by the RFU ensured the continuation of the Five Nations after the other four countries had threatened to stage the tournament without England in a row over cash. England had been expelled from the tournament after the RFU negotiated an exclusive rights deal for Championship games with satellite broadcaster BSkyB. Eventually the RFU was forced into a complete surrender and agreed to share the cash with the other home nations. "Why we got ourselves into this mess in the first place, I have no idea," reflected Scotland's Scott Hastings. "It's been a waste of time and a lot of hassle."
