My Interview with Australian Legend Michael Lynagh

Full Name: Michael Patrick Thomas Lynagh

Position: Fly Half

1. How old were you when you started playing rugby? 

I was about 11.

2. What was your first rugby team that you played for?  

My school team – St Josephs College, Gregory Terrace. In Brisbane Australia

3. Who was your favourite rugby player when you where growing up? 

I was more a cricket player. So all my heroes were cricketers. On a rugby front, I guess I like Mark Loane and Paul McLean.

Chi era il tuo giocatore preferito mentre crescevi?

Ero piu un giocatore di cricket, sicce tutti i miei eroi erano giocatori di cricket, ma rigguardo il rugby direi che mi piacevano Mark Loane e Paul McLean.

Quale ruolo hai sempre voluto giocare?

Numero 10

5. Who is your best friend in rugby?  

Many. Rugby has given me so many friends and even my wife. I met her when I was playing rugby in Treviso.

Tanti, il rugby mi ha datto tanti amici, pure mia moglie. Lo incontrata quando a rugby a Treviso.

6. I’m not very tall, do you think there is still a place in professional rugby for smaller

skilful players? 

I hope so. I wasn’t very tall or big either.

Io non sono molto alto, pensi che ci sia un posto nel rugby professionale per un

giocatore piu’ piccolo ma abile?

Spero di si, neanche io ero tanto alto.

7. What do you think are the big changes in the game from when you played?  

The size of the players

Secondo te quali sono i piu’ grossi cambiamenti nel gioco da quando hai giocato te?

La grandezza dei giocatori.

8. Do you think all the continuing rule changes are really improving the game? 

I hope so. I think the new scrum laws are good.

Pensi che tutti i cambiamenti di regole sta aiutando il gioco?

Spero di si. Penso che le nuove regole per la mischia siano buone.

Golf & Surfing

11. What was the best advice you got when you started to play rugby?  

Enjoy it.

12. What is the best advice could give someone wanting to start a career in rugby?

Enjoy it and be the best you can be.

Hugo Porter. Argentinian flyhalf

14. What is your favourite food? 

Seafood

Quale e’ il tuo cibo preferito?

Cibo di mare.

15.Do you miss playing rugby?  

Not really. I played for a long time and enjoyed it – but life moves on.

Ti manca giocare a rugby?

No, ho giocato per tanto tempo e mi sono divertito- ma la vita continua.

16. What was the best moment in your rugby career?  

1991 Rugby World Cup

Quale e’ stato il tuo momento piu’ bello nel rugby?

Campionato Mondiale nel 1991.

17. What was the feeling like to be selected for your country for the first time?

Difficult to describe. Very proud and very nervous!

Quale era la tua sensazione quando sei stato selezionato per il tuo paese per la

prima volta?

Difficile da descrivere. Molto orgoglioso ma anche molto nervoso.

18. I appreciate it’s a long time away, but what are your predictions for the 2015

world cup?  

New Zealand.

Capisco che ce ancora molto tempo, ma quali sono le tue predizioni per il

Nuova Zelanda.
